Self: Ultimate De-Stress Yoga


A blend of classic yoga postures and athletic stretches. This program has two distinct movement styles (to address the two different ways that people reduce stress). The first segment is “active” — it’s a fluid, fast-moving series of mostly standing postures. The second segment is “restorative” — it features slower-paced, lying postures that include Pilates-style matwork and meditation. Both sections have an athletic, fitness-style feel (e.g. you’ll recognize the “warrior” pose as just a modified runners’ lunge). A yoga block is optional. Sunny outdoor resort setting. ©2007
